Salon Assistant

The course aims to provide pre-vocational training for individuals wishing to work in the hairdressing industry. This is a rewarding, creative course which gives you the opportunity to enter the hairdressing industry with confidence, passion and flair. Working hands on in our salon you will learn the basic of hairdressing and how a salon is run.

Who should apply?

Students who are interested in gaining a traineeship or employment within the Hairdressing and Beauty industry. Jobs are expected I increase by 25 per cent in the next five years, so why not consider becoming part of an industry that specializes in the latest looks and trends. It is an energetic and vibrant industry that specializes in making people feel good about themselves.

Possible job outcomes

The majority of hairdressers are employed in salons. Most hairdressers work in small salons of between four and six people. Most salons require apprentices. Hairdressers may also be employed as stylists for TV, film, theatre, day spas,cruise ships or advertising agencies. It is a large occupation with good employment prospects. Hairdressers with good retailing skills (selling products or additional beauty treatments) are particularly in demand.
